We would like to welcome all of you who are stopping by to check and see what is going on with the trailer we have just released publicly. 2007 was a slow year for us in regards to released games, but we spent a good bit of the year developing this project. Several staff members have devoted countless hours over the past few months creating an alternate reality that can and will capture the imagination of its audience.

For those who haven’t seen the trailer for our next project:

Aporia CME is in involved in an ambitious independent development produced with the efforts of several volunteers who have committed their time to creating an experience that everyone can enjoy. This project is neither a commercial nor a marketing project. It is, however, a work of love to develop an Alternate Reality Game players can connect with.

The story development encompasses many genres including: History, Science Fiction, Drama, Fantasy, Comedy, and many differing cultures. Our audience will find themselves immersed in a reality which may have them looking at their friends and neighbors and asking themselves “what if?”

Our goal with the story and the interaction is to make the players and casual audience feel as though this reality could exist. Also, we want to make them feel as though they are part of the story through their various interactions with the characters and the rest of the community. There will be organizations that the players can join or take charge of that can have an impact on various live events or storyline twists.

Since our background is in ARG (Alternate Reality Game) development, this project will be geared toward that genre. Everything from puzzle design, to character development and plot will be influenced by ARGs. While this game will include many challenging puzzles well integrated into the universe of the game, the primary focus will be on the story and character development. The story will be fairly unique to the CF(chaotic fiction)/ARG genre. We will have a wide range of characters from the few main to others you may only encounter once or twice.

Another goal we are striving towards is for the players to have fun and not to read pages and pages of forum posts and player guides for even a hope of starting, and as such, we will take extra care so that the game can be joined at any point. We will be approaching the interface for various aspects of this game in a fashion that is fairly unique. It has been mentioned before, but we cannot stress enough how this approach will totally bring the experiences of the characters into the lives of the players. Our approach is to ensure there are a number of ways for the players to become involved in the game. In order to do this, we are taking care to ensure that players who are not involved when the game launches feel comfortable joining in at any time without feeling left out of the community and various activities.

We’re looking forward to getting this experience on the street for all of you; however, we must warn you that when it comes time to launch this game, portions of the launch will be done in a very subtle manner.

If you’re interested in receiving more information and / or to put your name in the hat to receive launch materials; Please fill in the following contact form with your full name, mailing address, e-mail, and any other contact information you’re interested in sharing with us. This information will not be shared with anyone outside of our organization.

Please use our Player Information Survey to send us information about contacting you. All information submitted is confidential and will only be used by Aporia Cross-Media Entertainment, LLC for the Aporia Agathon Project and future projects released by us.

Side note: The Aporia Agathon Project is a working title. The choice for the name Aporia Agathon is symbolic of our recent history: we were created, we went into a cacoon, and we’re coming out beautiful. That is our hope anyway.
