Aporia Agathon Project - FAQ

What is the Aporia Agathon Project?

The Aporia Agathon Project is an independent production of Aporia Cross-Media Entertainment, LLC as a testbed for ideas in a thoroughly entertaining fashion.

How many people are working on the Aporia Agathon Project?

The number of individuals involved fluctuates due to various factors. The staff members are volunteers and thus are free to come and go as they please. We typically have between 5-8 people working on the game on a weekly basis, with actors not included in those numbers

How long has Aporia been developing this project?

Since summer of 2007, though there have been slow periods due at various times due to a number of circumstances.

Is the Aporia Agathon Project financially supported?

The Aporia Agathon Project is financially supported by Aporia CME with staff members helping to cover some of the costs. There is absolutely no corporate sponsor covering the development of this game. We have, however, opened the door for sponsorship opportunities for companies seeking to connect their brand to the game by purchasing and paying for swag and/or events. We have acquired one such sponsor who has given us the opportunity to make use of their facilities for a particular event early in the game.

How do players know who the sponsors are?

After an event, if it isn’t obvious who the sponsors are due to locations, we will write an article on our news blog describing the activities of the event and pointing out who the sponsors of the event were. We will then add to the links section the names of the sponsors and point players to the sponsor’s websites. Other options could include integration into the game through product placement as some of our web designs have been created to allow such integration with the realism of their design.

Is there a meta-site for this game, or will news.aporiacme.com be our resource?

news.aporiacme.com will be a resource throughout the game as we will cover some of the events here, but none of the content on the news blog will particularly help any of the players advance through the game. We have created another website that launched in March 2008 that will be used to connect players to all of the sites within the game. The purpose of this meta site is to help players understand what is connected to the game, due to the size and length of the game we imagined this would be very helpful.

Will there be a wiki to help us organize thoughts on the game?

We assume there will be a player-run wiki for this purpose. We have watched game developers create their own wikis in the past and try to maintain them. We would like to do this, but there are typically a few downfalls with doing so. One would be the manpower needed to maintain the wiki, which we cannot afford the spare time on. The other would be that players would expect us to give them the solution to all their woes through the wiki, something we hope to work through without giving anything away.
